Hmm, the too many initializers error is something I haven't seen before. I'm guessing it has something to do with the MSVC compiler.

One thing I could try to look into is shipping wheels for PyPy on Windows, which would mean you (or your CI in this case) wouldn't have to compile the C extension and could just install the pre-built wheel. The cibuildwheel documentation tells me that with PyPy, only 64bit Windows is supported. Would that work for you?

That probably would work, though to be honest I've since found a different way to handle this (I already depend on Django, so I've used Django's parser).
