.com vs .io shouldn't affect anything. It doesn't look like I have permissions to make any pushes to that repo, so here's what I'd suggest.

1. Update the Gemfile to look like this (you can remove Compass)
2. Include Gemfile.lock (I think this is a requirement for GitHub pages, though can't find any docs)
3. Ensure you are running Jekyll in safe mode with no plugins
4. Check GH pages dependencies

Agreed, it's up there now. There seems to be delays varying in length after the initial push to the gh-pages branch. They're usually up within about 10 minutes, but wouldn't be surprised if that's delayed sometimes.

Are we good to close this?

Yep, sorry I forgot this was open.

FYI: the issue was that if you fork an upstream repo, you need to push the
gh-pages branch to get the docs to build.
