The project aims at investigating how major news sentiment (e.g. new financial regulations, giant companies acquisition or bankruptcy) reported by mass media can influence the volatility of stock market price in U.S., and predict stock market price change affected by important events. This model may be applied by investors, governments, banks and other sectors to evaluate the financial impacts resulting from major events in the news reports.
