Lambda@edge cannot produce logs in the region of execution about serverless

I'm experiencing the same issue. As a workaround I added the configuration to the provider.iam.role.statements below which seems to make it work:

  Action:
    - logs:CreateLogGroup
    - logs:CreateLogStream
    - logs:PutLogEvents
    - logs:TagResource
  Resource:
    - 'Fn::Join':
        - ':'
        - - 'arn:aws:logs'
          - '*'
          - Ref: 'AWS::AccountId'
          - 'log-group:/aws/lambda/*:*:*'
