You need to build the source for docpad
once. These aren't tracked by the server because it would force docpad to recompile on any UI changes. See notes on docs on learnsemantic.com.
You can also serve files from ui folder to docs using gulp serve-docs
from semantic-ui-docs.

I get the following output from gulp build-docs
:
[10:52:07] Local gulp not found in ~/src/vendor/Semantic-UI-Docs
[10:52:07] Try running: npm install gulp
Is it standard practice to install a local gulp for every project that uses it, or is something wrong with my setup?
If it is standard practice, then perhaps gulp should be added to the package.json
dependencies; otherwise the setup process in the readme still seems incomplete to me.

After running npm install gulp
, I get the following output from gulp build-docs
:
[10:54:20] No gulpfile found
from semantic-ui-docs.
You run it from the directory where semantic-ui is not the docs.
I've added more clarification to the docs.
