This could complicate things (specifically in the code side of things), if you could give me more of an example. This, again could possibly get resolved by the column layout that is in my to do list? Keep me posted and we can brainstorm ideas, where possible.

A column layout fix would help but this is more about separating traits and reducing visual clutter.
Here's the character sheet for my game after I tweaked the order of traits to equalize the column lengths.
It's hard to interpret: the traits are all mixed up
If you can divide the sheet into sections, it becomes easier to read.
