It is possible to not show the timestamps by setting the HIDE_TIMESTAMPS configuration variable to true in the index.php file:

$GLOBALS['config']['HIDE_TIMESTAMPS'] = true;

This will hide the timestamps when not logged in, although you can still find out on which date the links were posted by looking at the daily pages (but only the date, not the time)

Can this pref be made accessible through shaarli's settings page?

Oh yes.. there are a few parameter which do not have a GUI. See: http://sebsauvage.net/wiki/doku.php?id=php:shaarli#in-source_configuration

I may add some of these options in the configuration screen.

Shaarli always serves the links in order (most recent first).

I do not plan to display date only.
