path is incorrect about pyinotify

This is a really strange behavior indeed, I couldn't reproduce this behavior, I have no idea where this might come from! Moreover, you seem to use python2.6 a old but decent kernel version 2.6.17.

The kernel running is is kept up with the manufacture. It runs on a SPARC processor, not sure if that is useful. You have any ideas on what I can do to maybe help debug this?

It is indeed a relatively unusual architecture, maybe inotify had some bugs with this version of the Kernel, I don't know. What I think you should do, is to try this same test with for instance https://github.com/rvoicilas/inotify-tools/wiki/ this is another inotify tool, that way that's might tell us if it is a pyinotify bug or if it's probably a kernel bug.
