This is fixed for repy in r3144. There is now a -randomports option to run_tests that will allow multiple repy runs of the unit tests to occur at the same time.

We have designed the node manager be unable to run multiple instances on the same system. Therefore, this would need to be altered to make this work. I think it's worth deferring this. I don't think this is something that should be changed without serious thought.
The software updater tests cannot be altered to allow multiple instances either since they rely on the node manager.
