I've given this one a lot of thought @dlaidlaw -- I think my response is going to be to deprecate the preparePackage goal. After my next release I'll put together a new archetype that shows how jasmine-maven-plugin & wro4j can be used together in tandem. wro4j is focused on processing JS/CSS resources, while my efforts have been squarely on making it easier to test the javascript.
As a result, I've ignored this goal since I first wrote the plugin--so much so that I don't use it myself (in practice I always end up falling back on spring resources, jawr, or wro4j)
