I also checked with my data set, which has strongly irregular dates as sequence indices and the workaround/fix also works perfectly well there.

Thank you for your effor @npatki , this solved the problem of nan, but I was winding if this makes the sequence index to be repeated for the same sequence ID, I am seeing this in my dataset right now

Hi @Ng-ms as this is a slightly different problem, perhaps you should file a new issue for it?
Off-the-cuff, I think the PARSynthesizer is designed to emulate patterns from your real data. Does your real data have any repeated sequence indicies? That may be something to check. If you file a new issue, we can provide code for that. Thanks.

in real data, i do not see this behavior since my sequnece_index is the visit date so each date is unique
