Yes, we definitively want them, but if we already have violins, we can use them now and come back to boxplots and barplots, or even stripplots later. We can still think if we want to use seaborn that has all three ready for us or we do the grouping ourselves and stick with plain matplotlib.
The reason I always come back to seaborn now is that this violin plot with the dots looks more like the seaborn flavoured one and not that much the plain matplotlib version. In this case, I would suspect the whole library might already be loaded under the hood and we just have to exploit it. Or at least it is already a dependency.
