@sangram23,
Happy New Year! Sorry for the delay in responding but we were out for our Winter Break.
It appears you have uncovered a bug: our scripts will not overwrite an existing index management policy and, therefore, the documentation is incorrect.
Which release of this project (Viya 4 Monitoring for Kubernetes) do you have deployed in this cluster? That may impact our recommendation for how to proceed. If you have not updated your project repo since you deployed, you can check the CHANGELOG.md file to identify the latest release included. Or, if you have updated your copy of the project repo since you deployed (or, if you aren't sure if you did or didn't), you try running the following command and sending us the output:
helm -n logging list
In the meantime, we will start working on updates to the documentation.
Regards.

The LogRetention.md document in the logging subdirectory of the repo has now been updated and corrected. The steps needed to adjust how long log messages are retained are described in that document. This includes information on the related storage implications ("more logs" = "more storage needed") and how to adjust the size of the PVCs. Closing this issue.
