RPM spec about scot

Yes we would welcome those efforts. As you have surmised, it would be a Herculean task.

In other news, we are (again) actively developing a "Dockerized" version of SCOT. This, depending on your needs, may prevent you having to go the RPM route.

The biggest problem with RPM/Redhat that you would be that most of the Perl RPM's are too old to work with SCOT. If you look in the ./install directory, the shell scripts should be fairly clear on what is needed for the major components. If you decide on attempting this, please feel free to ask questions here and we will help as much as possible.

Great! We are making progress on this front. Turns out the will be several containers to be part of the Scot swarm. Or plan is to host the containers in docket hub when ready.

@louieamone @erinn - We have pushed a BETA version of the docker deployment of SCOT to Github. The branch is scot-docker. You can read more about the branch and how to build / deploy here: https://github.com/sandialabs/scot/blob/scot-docker/docs/source/scotdocker.rst

We are going to be pushing out alot of updates moving forward with this branch and will eventually merge it into master but right now we are keeping them separate. There will be a formal announcement when the merge happens.

As of right now, the branch has all of master's most recent code changes so you should be good to experiment / test!

Thanks a lot; after a couple of false starts, I was able to get it running. I'm seeing a few errors like "failed to get form structure", and having some trouble with user management, but it could just be user error. Thanks for all the effort!

@erinn @louieamone - We have merged all docker functionality into the master branch and have included ALOT of changes with that merge. You will want to pull and rebuild at your convenience.
