Like deadline for ERC20 permit signatures, there could be an expiry date for each signature, after which the signature is no longer usable, so there's no risk of a signature being used any time in the future (the main concern exressed in the article) even though it's out there.

Adding a expiry field would require a change on the smart contract level and it's not a tx service feature. Currently there's a DELETE endpoint for removing proposed transactions in case you don't want to pay for a rejection transaction (which is safer)

Endpoint is very recent and they are working on it. If you need to use that feature you can use Safe CLI
