That's not a CPU problem. That's your assembler being too old. You'll have to upgrade it.
And preferably upgrade your entire distro, CentOS 6 has been unsupported since 2020.

Yes, as @Alcaro pointed out, I think your assembler still has to be able to understand AVX2 instructions, even though the runtime dispatch mechanism ensures that such instructions will not be executed at runtime. So please use a newer version of the assembler or just download binary distributions from our release page: https://github.com/rui314/mold/releases
