There is the --local
flag, which kind of does something similar, but I like your suggestion better.
So currently, you have to change into the directory that has your specific mongod/mongos, then run mlaunch --local
. I use that from the mongo build dir when I compile mongod for some testing.
It would be nicer to be able to do:
mlaunch --path /my/path/to/mongod ...
Is that what you had in mind?
from mtools.
I thought if your run mlaunch without --local it would your the current directory. Or maybe that's what I would expect.
--path
is a good idea.
$path
is too awkward.
I'm just trowing this other idea out there, but what about having a mlaunch config file like .ssh/config
does where you define several hosts, but in this case it would be for 'deployments' or tests.
So:
Recipe myfacebooklocaldev ( or something like Deployment )
Sharded 1
Mongos 1
Config 2
Replicaset true
Name fblocal
Dbpath /data/fblocal/
...
And you run this via:
mlaunch myfacebooklocaldev
and voila!
from mtools.
That's a separate issue, @gianpaj . Yours is more configuration management than PATH specification (which should be available if there is ever a config file for various options)
from mtools.
implemented with --binarypath PATH
.
