I fixed the issue I was having running therubyracer by doing brew uninstall scons --force
, brew install scons
, opening a new terminal, changing to my rails app directory (which for me invoked my project .rvmrc
), running gem uninstall libv8
. Then I was able to run gem install -V libv8
and see that there were no errors, followed by bundle install
. Both worked.

It looks like the output got chopped from your first ticket.
So was the issue that brew had installed an older version of scons? We do bundle scons with libv8, so it should be using that one. Any idea why?

It said that there was more than one scons when I uninstalled them. Maybe the PYTHONPATH didn't get updated, or didn't include the current directory by default.
That sucks about the output getting chopped off - I should have snipped it.

Well to me GitHub silently chops output is a bigger issue than the install failing silently in my edge case...maybe we should just make a note about it and move on.

Just realized it could have been a user error, instead of GitHub cutting it off. But I don't have the output or the problem anymore so it will take installing an old version of SCons to reproduce.
