Hi, I'm having a look at this and I think that I know what's happening. Could you please tell me which version of Ruby you are using so that I can do some additional tests?
Cheers.

I'm using Ruby Enterprise Edition 1.8.7

I've installed ree-1.8.7-2011.03 using rvm, but I can't recreate the problem. Is this the same version of Ruby Enterprise Edition that you are using? If it is, can you give me an example of something that you try to do in irb that blows up?

And yes, that is the same version that I am using, I just re-installed it this morning.

OK, thanks for the extra information. I've pushed a patch to the 0.7.x-stable branch. Please give it a try and let me know if it works for you.

Thanks @celldee, there are still some other instances where this is happening but they are all under the AMQP namespace. I noticed you're a committer on that project too, I'll go ahead and open a new issue there.

in case anyone comes across this and is looking for the corresponding issue on the AMQP tracker here is the link: ruby-amqp/amqp#95
