I also encountered this error,
Here is the solution.
You can add this function after includes at the top of the automotivePlugin.cxx file.
static void RTILog_debug(const char* fmt, ...) { }

[qinzuoyan]

This is because the generated files (src/Generated/automotive*) are submitted to the repository, which may be not fresh and may break compiling.

To bypass it, you can run make veryclean before make:
make -f make/Makefile_x64Linux3gcc5.4.0 veryclean
