We're going to go through a lot of beta releases and I'm not going to remember to update that each time. What's the problem with just leaving it as ">= ... beta.1"? It should still grab beta.3 right now, and beta.4 after that release, etc.

Ah, ok. I understand. No problem ;) I just thought you might want to update it once in a while, but yes, not too important unless it is a source of confusion for anyone using it.
I wasn't aware it would grab the latest beta even though beta 1 is specified. Great!
I updated Jeweler to have an option for rspec2 but I can see it still uses the "old way" of doing generators. I might hep upgrade jeweler to use the latest Thor based approach. Where are some other essential "places" that rspec is used?

There are other jeweler-like gems that could use the same love. I'm really not sure what other places would be considered essential.
