No fixture support yet in rspec-rails-2 about rspec-rails

There are some things I'd probably change, but I can work with what you've got and tweak things. The problem right now is I can't even run the specs:http://gist.github.com/416561

If you can get me a patch that I can apply and run the specs, I'll take it from there.

Great. Patch applies and the whole suite passes. I've got your changes in a fixtures branch and will merge that branch in after I make a few additional changes in the next couple of days.
