I am Roshini Pulle, a dedicated Computer Science student at the University of California, Santa Cruz, with a passion for technology and a profound commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion in the field. As the President of UCSC Girls Who Code since September 2022, I have spearheaded initiatives that bridge the gender gap in technology, collaborating with industry giants such as Google and GitHub.
In my role, I facilitated a workshop in partnership with Google, reaching 380 students, and guided 12 individuals through a web development internship, imparting crucial design concepts. Additionally, I orchestrated a Womenβs Speaker Panel, featuring accomplished speakers from MIT and leading tech companies. This experience has been immensely rewarding, allowing me to positively impact the careers of aspiring women in computer science.
Education: I am currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science at UC Santa Cruz, maintaining a stellar 3.85/4.0 GPA. My coursework includes a comprehensive array of subjects such as Data Structures, Algorithms, Computer Systems Design, and Entrepreneurship Academy.
Skills: My proficiency spans a wide spectrum of programming languages, including C/C++, Python, Java, and Haskell. I am well-versed in web development technologies such as HTML/CSS, JavaScript, React, and have hands-on experience with User Experience (UX) design tools like Figma. Alongside technical skills, I bring expertise in stakeholder management, risk management, and negotiation.
Work Experience: As the President of UCSC Girls Who Code, I established strategic partnerships with Google, GitHub, and local tech organizations. In my internship at Raytheon Technologies, I developed a web-based solution benefiting over 10,000 students, demonstrating my ability to lead and inspire a team of engineers.
Projects: One of my notable projects includes a web-based Music Streaming App developed using React and JavaScript, combining functionality and user experience akin to popular music streaming platforms. I have also designed a Multi-Threaded HTTP Server in C and am actively involved in creating an iOS/Android app called Modish, integrating AI for personalized outfit suggestions.
Passions: I want to explore how music, health, and technology can come together to make people's lives better. I'm excited about joining a team that shares this vision and using my skills to contribute to meaningful solutions.
Certifications: I hold a Diploma in Carnatic Music from the University of SiliconAndhra, showcasing my dedication to music over the past 12+ years.
