Note that you can call publish by just giving the message arguments, like (publish string-pub :data "my_string"). This isn't exactly what you're suggesting, but perhaps it handles your case? If not, the proposed change seems reasonable too.

So, what I have seen are

(publish-msg (pub &rest msg-args)) and (publish (pub message)) where pub can be publication objects. But I want to fasciliate the process of creating a message like this

(make-publisher-msg (pub &rest msg-args)) so that there is an easier way of creating just a message. I know that this is pretty close to what (publish-msg (pub &rest msg-args)) does, but not what I want.

I definitely see the value behind a version of make-message that takes a publisher object instead of the string type. Georg, do you want to implement that functionality yourself or should I have a look? :)

No, I already did it. I just went out for a beer with Nick. ;) Give me like an hour and then you have a pull request together with the new service-client functionality.
