The Wood is a game inspired by the book Uprooted, a novel by Naomi Novik. In the book, The Wood is a dangerous, mysterious, enchanted forest with a seemingly omnipresent feeling of death. One instance of the Wood “attacking” was when it sent out a pack of Corrupted Wolves to kill the main character. Another instance of the Wood attacking is when a large, mantis-like creature made out of branches took the main characters’ best friend into the Wood, forcing the main character to go after them and endanger herself. The Wood is a great element to the story of Uprooted and will be a great element in the game known as the Wood.
