I tried
arecord -f cd -v s.wav
but nothing was recorded. However, I can record via Audacity when Respeaker is selected as an input mic. Do I have to specify somewhere in the code the mic channel and how to do so ?

I solved it.
That was my fault. My microphone wasn't selected as the input.
