Sounds good, this is the way to go. Although at the moment you can always put an instance in the internal network, where access to the proxy will be limited.

Yes , but rather "turning authentication on" than "turning off"

basically a "main token" would also work , since this case here can exploited e.g. by just setting anyname.webproxy as reversePTR for your public/vserver IP
