Is your rubygems up to date?

gem update rubygems

ivanoats avatar ivanoats commented on July 19, 2024

I tried that and also gem update --system. I also tried uninstalling and re-installing refinerycms-blog

    → gem -v
    1.8.5
     → gem install refinerycms-blog
    ERROR: While executing gem ... (NameError)
    uninitialized constant Syck::Syck

I've tried this on two OS X machines and an Ubuntu 11.04 one now and they all have the same error. This answer by David Chelimsky on the gemcutter google group suggests the gem needs to be re-built in 1.8.7 and pushed out to rubygems ?

I get it too, but slightly different:

$ ruby --version
ruby 1.9.2p180 (2011-02-18 revision 30909) [x86_64-darwin10.8.0]
12:21:51: ~$ gem install refinerycms-blog
ERROR: While executing gem ... (NameError)
uninitialized constant Psych::Syck

Seems the gem may be corrupt in the same way that Refinery CMS 1.0.2 was.

I think there's something wrong with my system when building gems or maybe "gem build" is buggy on my 1.9.2.

Hi guys,

I just tried a gem update and got the following error, any clue?

Updating refinerycms-blog

Yep, we're all getting it.
Will push a new one shortly, pretty busy.

I had the same error. Update and reload RVM, and re-installing Rails, was my solution.

Updating RVM and re-installing Rails did not work for me

Try version 1.6.2 just pushed.

from refinerycms-blog.

linkrjr avatar linkrjr commented on July 19, 2024

1.6.2 seems to work smoothly, it let me run the update just fine, will let you know if I run into any other problem.
Thanks for that.

Can I ask you what the problem was?

parndt avatar parndt commented on July 19, 2024

I'm not entirely sure, really.
I fixed a bunch of things but probably it was just rebuilding the gem with refinerycms 1.0.3 which forced rails 3.0.9 (but really, it could be anything from the diff)
