I second this request, and I would even expand the description to also include multiple tag "types", perhaps like how acts_as_taggable_on has implemented it? Only a suggestion though.

Aye, but I was thinking of multiple tag types, not just multiple tags.
Say you blog about products you deliver. You'll want to tag a post both with a product type and the client. Then visitors could scope the articles posted by either client or by product type. Doing this now would mean having a single category list containing both client names and product types with no real separation between them.
