It's rarely none or multiple files that remain under target/source/plugins ... actually I've never seen three or more ... but during the vast majority of the builds the deletion in FileUtils.forceDelete() fails for one of my thirty-something JARs in target/source/plugins ...

it's not always the same JAR that remains,
it has never been one of our own artifacts (our own artifacts make for about a third of all),
it is always one of the bigger artifacts and
always one of the artifacts with names rather early in alphabet.

Remotely debugging forceDelete() is OK, but so far I failed to see File, FileSystem and Win32FileSystem in Debugger correctly, although JVM in IDE is same as on build server.
