error when starting firstblood about vulnhub_vagrant

Stops at
default: SSH username: vagrant

not sure what to do after that.

Aw yes. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. Without removing the USB 2.0 adapter (which you actually don't need anyway), can you try installing the VirtualBox Extension Pack for your version? You'll see it in the middle of the downloads page: https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads. Let me know if this allows it to boot without you needing to modify the VM settings. Also, as in the README, ssh will not work with Vagrant. You'll have to hack into the machine as per usual - with another VM on the haymarketers network.

open cmd as admin then cd to downloads then run below, installed.

I'm not sure why you are feeling that there is unnecessary usage of admin privileges. To be clear, you must have admin rights to install any of the applications aforementioned. Beyond that, you shouldn't need admin rights at all... (not even for the internal network creation). I went ahead and tested my thoughts out and arrived at the same conclusion as what I am stating here.
Once you have the applications installed, do not open anything as admin. UAC should not prompt you, as well. It seems as though this is now working for you, so I will close this issue.
