I am not sure about this
कौम्पोनॅन्ट
orकम्पोनेंट
which one do you think is correct for this?
Both translations seemingly are correct, but I think it should be कौम्पोनॅन्ट
. We can decide on one and use that everywhere
from hi.react.dev.
Hi!
I think it's कॉम्पोनेन्ट
More info here: #19
from hi.react.dev.
Then let's finalize this कौम्पोनॅन्ट
We will use this everywhere
from hi.react.dev.
@arshadkazmi42 are you doing translation or pronunciation??
from hi.react.dev.
@aashirwadgupta @mayank-gangwal
I am not sure about the following,"single source of truth" : "सत्य का एकमात्र स्रोत" (is this used alot?) mutation : परिवर्तन (Not sure about this) overall: सब मिलाकर (is this used alot?) interactivity: अन्तरक्रियाशीलता (Not sure about this) document: आलेख (`डॉक्यूमेंट ` makes more sense to me) user: उपभोक्ता (`यूजर ` this sounds better)
other than above, I think everything is fine.
Let's discuss this list above, which we should add and what translation we should add
@saranshkataria Any thoughts? or anyone else? We need to discuss among everyone, which ever is better we will use that
I think when it comes to words whose strict hindi tranlation is complex, we would be better off by sticking to hinglish translation.
for example instead of उपभोक्ता for user ,यूजर makes much more sense
from hi.react.dev.
I think you should go with these:
"virtual": "वर्चुअल"
"shadow": "शैडो"
"representation": "रिप्रजेंटेशन"
from hi.react.dev.
@apoorvtomar2222 Whatever is written in this issue description (at the top) is final for now
from hi.react.dev.
कॉम्पोनेन्ट is perfect for all,
Lets Start doing,
from hi.react.dev.
I am not sure about this
कौम्पोनॅन्ट
orकम्पोनेंट
which one do you think is correct for this?
कम्पोनेंट
this is more appropriate
from hi.react.dev.
What should be for "Variable"?
We have been using वेरिएबल to keep it simple. Will add it to the glossary
from hi.react.dev.
@arshadkazmi42 objects or ऑब्जेक्ट्स ? Which one should be used?
I think lets use ऑब्जेक्ट्स
we have been using this in other pages
from hi.react.dev.
@arshadkazmi42 can you add 'boolean' to "Content that does not need to be translated", or do you have something in mind for translating the word 'boolean'.
boolean
added to the list of no translation required.
Thank you for letting us know about this
from hi.react.dev.
That was Fast! Thank you @arshadkazmi42 , its maintainers like you that keep open source projects alive.

I am not sure about this कौम्पोनॅन्ट
or कम्पोनेंट
which one do you think is correct for this?
from hi.react.dev.
@arshadkazmi42 I assumed we are not going to translate the word React anywhere. I think I read that somewhere in the instructions
from hi.react.dev.
oh is it. can you share the link to those instructions?
As I have already started with the translations.
from hi.react.dev.
@saranshkataria I got some more data to add in from
reactjs/zh-hans.react.dev#2
from hi.react.dev.
@saranshkataria Dropped you an email on [email protected]
Can you check it once.
from hi.react.dev.
Then let's finalize this
कौम्पोनॅन्ट
We will use this everywhere
this is wrong you should use 'कम्पोनेंट' this is the actual translation
from hi.react.dev.
@iUtsavB all are same, it just depends on how you are pronouncing it.
from hi.react.dev.
@iUtsavB for this word we are not translating. Just trying to convert it into hindi, so it will be readable in hindi and convey the meaning.
All the spellings we have discussed only differs in the pronunciation. As actual translation of component
in hindi is घटक
or अंग
from hi.react.dev.
Should i also convert the words written in example code to hindi as the codepen link will still show them in english.
from hi.react.dev.
@gurjotsingh4398 if it makes sense changing the words in code and does not breaks the code, you can change it there also
from hi.react.dev.
@saranshkataria @arshadkazmi42
Kindly update whatever is the final translation/pronunciation for the word component in the table mentioned above.
from hi.react.dev.
add JSX as well to list of not required translations
from hi.react.dev.
add JSX as well to list of not required translations
Done. Thank you for bringing this up
from hi.react.dev.
@saranshkataria what about क्रमशः
instead of स्टेप-बाय-स्टेप
from hi.react.dev.
@mayank-gangwal I think क्रमशः
is a bit complex, we need to keep the documentation easy to understand.
Any thoughts? @saranshkataria you have any thoughts on this?
from hi.react.dev.
@mayank-gangwal I think
क्रमशः
is a bit complex, we need to keep the documentation easy to understand.
Any thoughts? @saranshkataria you have any thoughts on this?
agreed that स्टेप-बाय-स्टेप is easier and we can stick to that instead of the complex क्रमशः
from hi.react.dev.
स्टेप-बाय-स्टेप is easier
from hi.react.dev.
Adding few more, that are being used repetitively
Mock: मॉक
hierarchy: पदक्रम
static: स्थिर
version: वर्शन
interactivity: अन्तरक्रियाशीलता
model: मॉडल
document: आलेख
library: लाइब्रेरी
user: उपभोक्ता
JSON: JSON <no translation needed here>
Help needed: parent and child (components) -> मूल
and सन्तान/ शिशु
? Doesn't make too much sense
Thoughts?
May EDIT, if found more frequently used words.
Edit 1: added few more.
from hi.react.dev.
Mock
makes sense, hierarchy
I think this should be better हायरार्की
@saranshkataria thoughts?
i will add these in glossary once its finalized
from hi.react.dev.
attribute : एट्रिब्यूट
submit: सबमिट
"single source of truth" : "सत्य का एकमात्र स्रोत"
mutation : परिवर्तन
mutable: म्यूटेबल
overall: सब मिलाकर
Will it be okay?
from hi.react.dev.

is already there in the list. Child we will add

@saranshkataria Any thoughts? or anyone else? We need to discuss among everyone, which ever is better we will use that
from hi.react.dev.
@ankit986 This translation completely depends on how you are pronouncing it.
For now, we have kept a fixed translation कौम्पोनॅन्ट
so once when we are done with all the translation it will be just find and replace work.
Also, we have pending discussions around many of these types of words
from hi.react.dev.
okay @arshadkazmi42

from hi.react.dev.
What should be for "Variable"?
Just suggestions
मानक = variable
माना = var
मान = let
from hi.react.dev.
For words related to mutation:
mutation : परिवर्तन/ बदलाव ( example: variable mutation is difficult - वेरिएबल में बदलाव मुश्किल है )
mutable: परिवर्तनीय ( example: state is mutable - स्टेट परिवर्तनीय है )
immutable: अपरिवर्तनीय ( example: state is immutable - स्टेट अपरिवर्तनीय है )
immutability: अपरिवर्तनीयता ( example: variable immutability is important- वेरिएबल में अपरिवर्तनीयता आवश्यक है )
from hi.react.dev.
वर्णनात्मक is associated with हिंदी वर्णमाला।
घोषणात्मक is better for signifying 'declarative'.
If we don't mind borrowiing words from urdu, I'd prefer एलनात्मक
from hi.react.dev.
घोषणात्मक
Thank you for suggestions.
I feel घोषणात्मक
would be better.
@saranshkataria Any inputs?
from hi.react.dev.

I can't find any style guide or criteria for deciding which terms should to be translated into hindi and which shouldn't.
For instance, I beleive that proper names like 'component' => कंपोनेंट for developing a common vocabulary that facilitates communication accross languages. But theoretical/abstract/explanatory terms should always be translated. -
Links to usefull/recommended linguistic resources should be appended with the glossary. I infrequently use the following:
ShabdaMitra
cfilt
Rekhta Dictionary
and, of course, online translation services like google translate.
from hi.react.dev.
For the list of words you can refer the description of the issue.
Also, some are decided on discussing and taking a call after mutual discussion here.
Most of them which are in list are React / JS related keywords, in general any keyword related to any technology shouldn't be translated.
For ex: Component
is a terminology in React which have a specific meaning and we can't translate this.
Similarly we should follow for all terminologies. Also if you see any new words which are not present in the list, let us know we will get it added to the list.
from hi.react.dev.
घोषणात्मक
For now. I am adding this in the list declarative
=> घोषणात्मक
from hi.react.dev.
अचल = immovable
Therefore, immutable should = अपरिवर्तनीय या बेबदल।
from hi.react.dev.
अचल = immovable Therefore, immutable should = अपरिवर्तनीय या बेबदल।
This sounds better. Updating
immutable => अपरिवर्तनीय
from hi.react.dev.
What should be done with the word "function"
@arshadkazmi42 what should we do with the word "function". Right now I am keeping it as function as "no translation is needed" although it is not it "no translation needed" section given at the top. I follow it with a hindi word कार्य inside a bracket.
Eg : function (कार्य)
from hi.react.dev.
@MayurSMahajan In other translated files we have used this फंक्शन
lets use this. I will update in glossary also
from hi.react.dev.
@arshadkazmi42 objects or ऑब्जेक्ट्स ?
Which one should be used?
from hi.react.dev.
@arshadkazmi42 can you add 'boolean' to "Content that does not need to be translated", or do you have something in mind for translating the word 'boolean'.

Added the translation for object
from hi.react.dev.
@arshadkazmi42 can you add 'event' and 'event-handler' to "Content that does not need to be translated", or do you have something in mind for translating those words.
from hi.react.dev.

Added both the words to No Translation Required
from hi.react.dev.
@arshadkazmi42 what about the word condition as in if..else... condition, I am keeping it as is, let me know if you have something else figured out.
from hi.react.dev.
Anything related to code, we don't translate
from hi.react.dev.
Great that's what I thought! But its always better to confirm.
from hi.react.dev.
what should we do with the word "Imperative".
Translation - अनिवार्य
or just like this - इम्पेरेटिव
I think इम्पेरेटिव will make more sense
from hi.react.dev.
Yes, I think इम्पेरेटिव will make more sense => ट्रांसलेशन
We want the documentation to be easy to understand. So I think अनिवार्य
will be a bit difficult to understand.
