I didnt understand much about the second paragraph?? :(

And for the github api, yes its for a demonstration. You can build this simple example app literally using pure JS if you want. Well its up to you to use redux for everything or not. Personally I prefer to use it for anything that exceeds its enclosing component or anything that might exceed in the future.

Its also written here why the example app is killing a fly with a bazooka :)

I think there is no right answer. Using local state is often easier in the beginning. Using only the Redux store is probably simpler in the sense of Rich Hickey

Right now I am opting in a project to use only Redux. This makes the code longer and I don't know if this can have implications for performance if you change the global state all the time. And as you said you can enjoy the advantages of time traveling for everything related to state.

At the end you will have to try it out which works better for you.
