With nosetests
simply runs fine. I have no so much experience, maybe @indeyets could give some hints.
from sparqlwrapper.
sparqlwrapper is python2 project. python3 code is generated only during the deployment. right now, nothing was done to enable tests on python3.
This bug can be renamed to "Implement testing on python3". I didn't approach this issue, but probably some 2to3-based solution can be provided
from sparqlwrapper.
You can try copying the run_tests_py3 file from rdflib core, this runs 2to3 on the code, saves it in a tmp folder and runs the tests there.
Even better would be to match the valiant efforts from @joernhees and make sparqlwrapper support py2 and py3 with the same code base using six: RDFLib/rdflib#374
from sparqlwrapper.
Thanks @gromgull , I ported the run_tests_py3.sh
script. The setup looks to work fine. We just have some issues with the usage of urlib2
that maybe @indeyets, who original ported the test suite to nose, could take a look.

yup. there's some black magic in there. I'll think about it.
by the way, nosetests3
is a thing present only in debian. canonical name is nosetsts-3.4
. same with 2to3
— it's better to use 2to3-3.4
. we should invent a bit smarter code there:
- detect recent version of python and store it in var
- check if
2to3-$suffix
andnosetests-$suffix
are available

@wikier can you assign this ticket to me? I don't have enough rights to do that myself
