Did you bind keys properly and quick search doesn't have all modifiers disabled?

I didn't bind anything... To be honest, I thought the Left and Right should
just work... say, like Up and Down. =)
And yes, I disabled all the modifiers for the quick search. Should I enable any
of them?

No. Modifiers should be off. In key bindings editor there are 'Move selection
marker up/down' options which you need to bind if you want something like Vim
movement. Lynx style movement can be achieved by binding secondary combination
to 'Go to parent directory' and 'Execute selected item' to left and right
arrows.

"Move selection marker up/down" are off by default in my Sunflower. (Up/Down
keys do work anyway.)

Hmm, now I've realised that I can't assign any arrow key to any action! I
reported it separately here:
http://code.google.com/p/sunflower-fm/issues/detail?id=111

As for binding the right arrow as an alternative combination for "Execute
selected item", I'm afraid that you can accidentally execute/open something
just by missing some other arrow key. =) For example, Krusader prevents you
from that: the right arrow only allows entering a directory and does nothing on
files.

Good, now that the issue 111 has been fixed, Left/Right keys are working and I
can enter and exit directories with them.
Still, I suggest to make a separate "enter directory" binding and assign the
Right key to it. It would be used for entering directories only (and doing
nothing on any files).

File a new feature request if you don't mind and it will be added.
