This is looking good so far. Dates are a pain when you try to move data from R to JS. d3.js provides several functions to format dates, but I think the best way to go forward is to do the conversion within R into a standard format that javascript understands.

NVD3 does not support facets, but I have a proof-of-concept that would achieve this. I am cleaning up the code before I push to github, and once I do that, you should be able to do facets with NVD3.

MorrisJS and xCharts do beautiful line charts. And so does Rickshaw. But you are right, that there are few sore things sticking out, which need to be resolved.
