I had a similar idea last night and spent a couple of hours going back through http://lmdvr.r-forge.r-project.org/figures/figures.html to get a feel for how these might be recreated with rCharts. I don't think there would be any copyright issue if we recreate. Also, these would serve as a great set of tests.

I have a try-and-fail on a basic recreation of PerformanceAnalytics charts.PerformanceSummary. I will document in an issue soon after I separate the polycharts and rCharts issues.

That is a great idea. In fact, since rCharts attempts to mimic lattice and ggplot2 in different ways, it would be great to recreate charts from both of them. Let me put together a short guide on this, so that there is some consistency. Maybe a tutorial repo with an individual folder for each example would work well, since you can fork the repo and contribute your own examples.

I will try to get a working draft this week, so that we can get cranking on this. Thanks again for your comments.
