Just to complete the thought here, there are multiple ways to get the output of a chart.
p1 <- rPlot(mpg ~ wt, data = mtcars, type = 'point')
p1$show(static = T, cdn = F) # default. no server, assets served locally
p1$show(static = T, cdn = T) # no server, assets served from CDN
p1$show(static = F) # shiny server, cdn option does not affect it currently.
p1$printChart('chart') # prints the chart js and div. useful for knitr.
p1$save('file.html', cdn = F) # saves the file as static html, for offline access
p1$save('file.html', cdn = T) # saves the file as static html, for online access

Also begs the question, should I rename printChart
to just print
so that it is more intuitive.

I also think print
is much more intuitive, and the closing-shiny-thing annoys me as well.
About the naming - I dunno if this is a good or bad idea - perhaps one could refactor printChart
and save
into one method? E.g:
printChart('chart') => print(div = 'chart')
save('file.html') => print(file = 'file.html')
from rcharts.
I like your idea. Let me think a little bit about it, but I see the advantage of having just one print
method.

I think having an explicit save
method is useful. It adds only one extra line of code, and provides clear separation of the methods.
print -> print only the chart
save -> save as standalone html
show -> display as static html or open server
I am closing this issue. Reopen it if you have a strong argument in favor of combining the two.
