I think you need to give me more details. I don't have a warrior myself but tried to reproduce it on the ptr server with a templated character.

Can you always reproduce this or did this just happen once? If so can you also reproduce when you deactivate all other addons that might interfere with GearMenu?

Where you casting "fishing" when trying to switch or was is just a normal change?

The following tests I did to try reproducing this:

  • Equip Mace and Shield
  • Change Mainhand mace to fishing pole
  • Equip Fishing Pole
  • Change Offhandfrom empty to shield
  • Equip Fishing Pole
  • Change Mainhand Fishing Pole to Mace

All of those cases worked for me.
