So, do you mean that when you inline an encoded ES256 key directly in the yaml properties, it is not read correctly because in this case the algorithm is not correctly identified ?

@RongjunZhou I see you have created the same issue in smallrye/smallrye-jwt#784, which is indeed the right place for this issue, lets close this one

@RongjunZhou I confirm the problem, for now, adding .jws().algorithm(ES256) should do. Let's continue in smallrye-jwt
