In my research I noticed that LEDs are reset on some events. I think after about a minute, but certainly by plugging the USB-cord (as the charging status is set by the device itself).

Latest master should light up the leds when the battery info is read.
Can anyone check if it actually works? :) Do the leds stay lit up, or do they turn off after a while?
from solaar.
For me the LEDs lit up when starting soolar and turn off after ~5 sec.
When inserting the USB-cable it gets interesting: first LED starts blinking red for ~2 seconds (means battery empty), then mouse shows full, then the normal charging indicator takes over...
Btw.:
Will there be an interface to set the LEDs via DBUS? This would be very nice to set own notifications via script (new mail, server is down, coffee is done...)

Alright then. Right now Solaar just sets the leds (does not turn the off), so it's good that they turn off by themselves -- one less thing to worry about.
For the charging bit -- I think the mouse might be sending a 'charging' event with no battery info, and Solaar thinks the battery is empty. Will have to check for that.
As for setting the leds externally -- would it not make more sense to expose this through solaar-cli?
