This is maybe a place where we can improve Eth/Web3 to include this field. I'll bring the subject to Derek and the team
from moonbeam.
I don't know all the context here, but just wanted to mention that each ethereum transaction is wrapped in a Substrate-style transaction called transact
. It would likely have the standard fields like onFinalized
.

This is available now in the meantime: https://docs.moonbeam.network/builders/get-started/eth-compare/consensus-finality/

@4meta5 So apparently transactions on the polkadot side have a isFinalized
status. I don't think this is the case on the web3 side. Any idea how to link tx on the polkadot side and the web3 side? What do they have in common?
Also, any idea what Atomics
is in this script? Looks like a simple db but Im curious because it's not loaded anywhere
from moonbeam.
Also I'm planning on using this script to test moonbeam (combined with polkadot-launch). But first I need to publish this types package because otherwise this script doesnt work with moonbeam types
from moonbeam.
Is there anything left to do here? If so should we move it to JIRA?

Looks interesting @4meta5 thanks I will take a look asap.

@crystalin are we planning to include an onFinalized status in the web3 rpc?

@joelamouche yes, but we don't have it implemented yet
