This is a good idea and the next logical step, I think. If been thinking of how to provide an api for any project where they could pass on their requirements and receive back a configuration. Possibly something like how composer does it with json, or we could implement saving config to database and providing keys for multiple downloads.

Also, this is what I was aiming for when I created the 45-make-generated-files-testable branch - having base config settings to merge for future updates and keep existing configs working.

Almost ready here. For the Symfony quickstart the user is now able to pre-select the main options like webserver, database and php version by query string. This could be adopted for the main form too if you like this approach @jtreminio.
However this should not be the possibility to re-import a complete user configuration! I have other plans for this feature.
Theoretically the user is now able to pass some crap along in the query string and during file archive generation a 500er will be thrown then. This could already be done by manipulating the form with some dev tools before submitting the form (e.g remove the hidden input for the webserver or strip the value of the folder type). I would ignore these problems because the user only damages himself (he gets no archive) and no other user nor the system.
