Git module doesn't seem to be running about puphpet

You shouldn't edit any of the modules directly.

Here's an example on how to use the Git module:

More specific to your question:

git::user { 'YOURUSERNAME':
  user_name   => 'YOURUSERNAME',

Thanks for your help, but for some reason the git::user directive doesn't seem to have any effect, although at least it's ensuring git gets installed without needing to include it in the 'installed packages' section. My author remains blank however.
