I may attempt to implement this in the future, but i have no plans to do so ATM.
The biggest roadblock is that sessions can only store string and integer variables, while nerdtree makes insane use of hashes and arrays to store the filesystem data. So id have to do fairly large hacks to make this work.

Unless vim sessions add support to store hashes and arrays eh?
It would be awesome to have this functionality.
Other than that nerdtree is rocking pretty hard already, I use it 99% of the time vim is running :)
