Make view response more flexible about django-ajax-selects

this is out of the scope of what a select field does.

if you need quantities, then you will need to do a number of changes to the app 
that would mean it wasn't even 
the same app or purpose.  its not just what values the json response is 
returning.

I would suggest using the code as a basis to design what you need, as a way to 
learn how it could be done (just 
as I have learned from prior projects).

I've already done this. I wasn't sure if this project was interested in patches 
and

sure, I'm always interested in patches and discussing issues.  its just that in 
this situation I think its outside of 
the project.

you can also easily use an additional view (since you can customize the 
template that specifies the target URL) 
and use that just for channels that use this alternative format.
