Hi @pldavid2,
Thanks for your suggestion and kind words.
Adding on-screen controls is something I've also thought about. However, I must mention that implementing this feature is a bit more complex than it might initially appear, primarily due to the variability in window sizes. We'd need to develop a flexible display system, possibly with paging or scrolling functions, to ensure that all information is accessible and visible regardless of the window size.
Given my current priorities, I would categorize this as a low-priority enhancement and it is unlikely I am going to work on it for the next couple of months. It's certainly on the table for future consideration and I am always open to PRs.

Hi @jonfryd, no problem, it's a low-priority enhancement for sure.
But just to be clear I was not talking about on-screen controls this time, but only showing an overlay text with the available shortcuts, similar as it's currently done for other information like filenames at the top, the print mouse position under cursor or the magnify area.

Thanks for the clarification, we are on the same page. I realize now that I understood your intent but my initial response was unclear. I wrote "on-screen controls" but it should have been "on-screen help text for controls".
