Allen,
thank you for reporting this issue. The cause is not yet clear. I'm investigating. Unfortunatelly, I don't have an iPhone at hand and simulator runs suspiciously smoothly... I have access to an older iPod Touch, which doesn't run that smooth as on my iPad, but still enough to be reasonably usable (at least for the test cases).
What generation or model of iPhone you have? What are the details of your Reel instance? Sequence or sprite? How many frames? Dimensions?
Also, It would help if you run Reel tests on your iPhone and take note of tests, which fail and especially the test duration shown at the very bottom after tests finish.

Hello,
I have the iPhone 3GS and I Added an image and remove it within the the current background div to hide the flickering background. I have implemented the apple version on their developer models. I think it's impossible to fix the issue on mobile possibly due to the sequence they load the page and memory. Images load faster than the backgrounds.
Best regards,
Allen

Hi Allen,
the more I look on your issue, the more I'm confused and unsure how to tackle it. However a notable effort went into improving performance on iOS devices, especially iPads, but there have been also iPod Touch performance improvements which should have an impact on iPhone as well. Can you please try to download version v1.1.3 and try run it on your iPhone if you can see some difference?
Thank you.

Closing this due to inactivity. Reel in 1.1.3 should be just fine on iPhones.
