Using Mighty Mouse's scrollball in Chrome and others can now be considered as "normal".
There still are differences in how native Mac browsers (like Safari) handle the ball movement - they are much less sensitive. Unfortunatelly there also appears to be no way to differentiate Mighty Mouse and regular mouse inside Chrome or other browsers.
However I'm using Chrome on Mac as a primary development platform and it behaves reasonably. Therefore I'm closing this issue.
