Does the simple consumer keep track of it's offset? about clj-kafka

Hi Seth,

That is correct- the Simple Consumer does not track the offset of messages that have already been consumed. However, you only need to use the offset when you're reconnecting not when consuming individual messages.

Kafka's Zookeeper Consumer already has code to automatically commit consumed offsets as it goes. You just need to set autocommit.enable to true (have a look at http://kafka.apache.org/configuration.html for more).
